How Do We Select OKLocal Recommended Businesses?

1. We look for local businesses with integrity, who have a reputation for delivering quality and excellence in and throughout the Okanagan.Our customers, clients, and community supporters nominate Okanagan businesses they know and trust.
2. Our team interviews and surveys many of their past customers.
3. We dig deep into their online reputation, and we personally speak with references and past customers to ensure they are who they say they are.
4. We make sure that any required licenses, qualifications, WCB and insurances are valid and up to date.

How do we ensure OKLocal Recommended business stay trustworthy?

With every OKLocal Recommended Business partner we stay on top of their trusted status by meeting with them at least 3 times per year, even selecting random partners to go through the OKLocal application process again, in order to ensure they still qualify for OKLocal Recommended status.

Every year all of our OKLocal Recommended partners are required to renew their contracts with OKLocal in order to remain Recommended.

At OKLocal we have “Mystery Shoppers” - who target our OKLocal Partners at random, acting as customers, testing their services, and making sure they are upholding the 5 OKLocal Guarantees of Service.

If there is a dispute, or a OKLocal Recommended business does not hold up the OK Local Service Guarantees, they are given the opportunity to make it right. If they choose not to or fail to meet our standards of service their recommended status, listing, and information will be removed from OKLocal immediately.
